Historical track ship that recorded by fish finder can store the data of time, depth, temperature, Leglength, Legtime, Legspeed, Legcouse and Position. With the community-based survey, Fishermen actually have been doing the survey each time they go out to the sea for fishing. This data collection started in June 2007 till December 2008.

The goal of this research is to create a new bathymetric map for water surrounding Aceh with use of SIG application. The result of this research will be returned for the fishermen to support their fishing activities. The data gained from the fish finder that installed in the fishermen boats.

When the fishermen do their fishing activities, fish finder sustained to record the information of bathymetric. The data from the fish finder, especially bathymetric data is collected when the fishermen finished their fishing activities in one trip. The data collected in early morning and in evening. The raw data will be corrected with using Garmin software Mapsource, Microsoft Access and Microsoft Excel. The data that have been corrected will be analyzed by using ArcGIS 9.2 and compared with previous bathymetric data so it will be presented to bathymetric information in form of visual based on geographic. The result of this research is a new up dated bathymetric map in water surrounding Aceh and 3-D visualization.
