The research about the current circulation in water surrounding Aceh started in June 2007 till December 2008. The purpose in this research is for mapping of the ocean current in water surrounding Aceh, which is used of fish finder that installed in fishermen boats.

The data gained from recorded boat position with the use of GPS which is installed in fishermen boats. The historical track boat that recorded by fish finder can store the data of time, depth, temperature, Leglength, Legtime, Legspeed, Legcouse and position. With support by tide data, circulation of the ocean current will determined, and with all of that data SIG application is needed to analyze and mapped the current circulation in water surrounding Aceh which is resulted by a current map. The outcome of this research will assist the fishermen in their fishing activities.
